Today we are going to take a look at the NOW Sports creatine monohydrate supplement.
This one is a more of a slightly generic and lower cost creatine so if you are on a budget this is one that you may want to pay particular interest to.
NOW Sports Nutrition has a reputation of making some pretty decent supplements that are priced lower than most of the other supplements out there so we thought we would see how their creatine stacks up.
Let’s take a look at the ingredients.
NOW Sports Creatine Monohydrate Ingredients
This is the easiest supplement we have reviewed yet with only 1 active ingredient.
Creatine Monohydrate – This is an ingredient we like. Creatine monohydrate is our favorite form of creatine and there has yet to be another form that has proven to be better. They have tried very hard to make a new better form of creatine but to date, creatine monohydrate is still king.
They kept it simple and straight forward with this supplement giving you the creatine and leaving it at that. Plain and simple, and they made our job really easy.
Value
As with many NOW Sports products, this one is pretty inexpensive at around $15 for 120 capsules and they also have it available in powder form. Overall this is a pretty good deal if you are looking for something simple and you are on a tight budget.
Dosing
Dosing on this one is 6 capsules which equal 4.5 grams of creatine monohydrate. We prefer 5 grams but 4.5 is close enough.
There is also a loading phase in which you are supposed to take the 6 capsules with fruit juice or other sweetened liquid 3 to 4 times daily, before and after exercise, for the first 7 days.
Positives
- Inexpensive
- Capsules can be taken anywhere, no mixing needed
- Solid company reputation
- No additives or preservatives
Negatives
- This is a lot of capsule taking if you don’t like capsules try the powder form.
- No extra ingredients, just creatine monohydrate and that is it
- Loading phase required
NOW Sports Creatine Monohydrate Overall Analysis
Overall this one is a pretty simple and straightforward supplement that is not going to break your budget. If you have any problem swallowing capsules you should be sure to get the powder form because there is a lot of capsule swallowing especially in the loading phase. I don’t even mind swallowing capsules and I would prefer the powder over that much capsule swallowing.
The creatine monohydrate will work for you but not as well as some of the other top products out there. If you don’t have the money for a better product then this one will help build muscle and strength however it is nowhere near as good as our top rated Creatine HMB.
